EWIT Library was started in the year 2001. EWIT has well-equipped resource computerized library which caters to the needs of students, research scholars and faculty. The Central Library is housed in Main block and PG Library is in the CMM block and occupies an area of about 617 Sq.mt and has a seating capacity of 200 users at a time. The library is well known for its collections of books, Journals, e-Journals, e-books, NPTEL Videos, Swayam, NDLI (National Digital Library of India) and VTU Question Papers.

The library has a collection of 44054 volumes of books, 11531 of titles and also access to more than 6883 e-Journals and 23471 e-books on various branches of Engineering, Science, Technology, Management and Architecture. Apart from the Central Library, all departments have separate libraries at the department level to cater to the students, provide for immediate reference and easy access at the departmental levels.

EWIT Library is the soul of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with the motto of empowering knowledge. The central library is housed in the main block and the PG library is in the CMM block. It has an extensive collection of books, journals, and e-resources for satisfying the academic and research needs of the students, faculty, and research scholars. The library is automated using the Lib-soft software, an OPAC search facility is available. EWIT library is a member of the VTU consortium; through the consortium we can access the e-journals, e-books, and remote access facilities.

Library Rules and General Instructions

Circulation Procedure:

 

  • All students, faculty, and employees of the Institute are entitled to the membership of the Library. Library membership form is available at the Circulation Counter at Central Library.
  • Three Books will be issued for UG & PG students for a duration of 14 days
  • For Faculty members six books will be issued for one semester
  • The Book can be renewed for further one term if the book is not being reserved by anyone

General Instructions

  • The rack at the entrance is to be used to keep your Personal Belongings
  • An identity card should be shown at the checkpoint to enter the library
  • Users have to scan their ID card at the entrance before entering and leaving into the library
  • Borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • The borrower should check the physical status of a book while receiving it from the issue counter
  • No book in damaged condition will be accepted from the borrowers on return. Damaged books will have to be replaced by the borrower.
  • In case of loss of books by the borrower, the borrower must replace the book with the latest edition along with overdue charges. Otherwise, the borrower will have to pay twice the market price of the book
  • The librarian may recall any book from any borrower at any time and the borrower shall return the same immediately
  • Misbehavior in the library will lead to cancellation of membership and also lead to serious disciplinary action
  • Use of Mobile phones is not permitted and silence should be maintained inside the Library
  • Keep the library clean
